If people don´t want illegals, a good idea would be to stop hiring them. Illegal immigrants don't cross the border because they love US, they cross because they get better paid jobs than in their countries. We don´t like illegals but we hire them. We don´t like the war against the drugs but we are the number one consuming drug country of the world...i need a nap.

I completely agree a hundred%. I can't consider that he would even go together with that. Individuals nowadays are simply unimaginable, never ceases to amaze me what people do and say anymore. Nice blog.

This country is far from beaten. What the brit hasn't seen is the sleeping anger that american citizens build just before they put their boots on and go to kicking. Our government has foolishly tested those lines this time and it won't be forgotten.

Republicans want want failure, they want things like the insurance companies to continue to rake in billions and to keep the unwealthy at a disadvantage. The infrastructures portion was what we needed to get us going in advancing our country to come into the present but the old conservatives who want to go back to the "simpler times" (ie. slavery, and racial discrimination via lower education). Our country and everyday people need help due to bad financial policy and they are just not getting it. Who is getting it? Big business. God bless America.

The problem with this country is BOTH the Democrats and Republicans. Anyone who seriously thinks that one side isn't corrupt or slaves to Corporate America hasn't done an adequate job of paying attention. To the Republicans: The GW administration will go down in History as one of the worst administrations. They eroded your constitutional rights, expanded the power of the wealthy elite, invaded countries under false pretenses, destroyed diplomatic relations with the rest of the world, and spent money like it was going out of style. To the Democrats: Obama is a dud. He promised much and has turned out to be another corporate lackey. He made deals with big pharma to ensure you could not get your medication cheaper elsewhere, he flip flopped on military tribunals, he refuses to fix health care properly through nationalization or single payer, he populates his inner circle with more Wall Street insiders, he spends money on bailouts and useless stimulus packages.

Funny how if the roles were reversed and Paul had only gotten the 22% Romney garnered and Paul's people booed Romney for winning, the est. would have STILL attacked Ron Paul and his supporters, just from another angle. Actually, I take that back. They would have wound a way to ignore his total altogether by not reporting the remaining totals. The est. is SCARED! They have been squirming now for 2 years trying to figure out how to neutralize this REAL conservative movement. They will fail.

Happy to publish the link, don't worry.

America can survive four years under *anybody*, trust me. There really isn't all that much a president can do, contrary to popular belief, which I'm sure you know. Especially when Congress can block him (or her, but that's doubtful) every which way..

The larger point for me on McCain's eniviro-crap is this: Why are you (McCain, not you) bothering to run on a liberal issue like this? Anyone who buys the global warming bullshit is going to instinctively distrust McCain and vote for Obama. You can't out-liberal him on this issue. It's pointless. I know his campaign advisors are probably telling him it'll get swing voters, but it won't (Independent voter trends are actually usually easier to predict than partisan trends, believe it or not).

Again, though, it's Iraq and WOT for me. If he's wrong on 98% of everything else, but Obama and/or HRC have got the Iraq/WOT 2% *wrong*, I'm breaking McCain. Well, I mean, I've broken McCain, and that's why. It is, to me, the single most vital issue. And, as I said, a president's economic policies can't do a hell of a lot, and besides, McCain will make the Bush tax cuts permanent (which is another 2% he's correct on, even if he opposed them at first).

But I know what you're talking about. Like I said, we conservatives had no real horse in the primary race. Again, though, if McCain governs as a liberal, I once again reiterate that we will see a conservative candidate emrge in 2012 (a viable one).

To have come this far in Iraq just to pull out now...would be horrible...and would most likely produce violence on a scale that well outdoes Pol Pot's "Killing Fields". And in the broader WOT, I guarantee you, terrorists would much prefer the isolationist policies of the two candidates running for the Dem spot than McCain.

Anyone who's following this discussion, by the way, I urge you to check out the NR link posted, it's a good piece.

Er, anyway, that's all I can say, though. I'm a single-issue voter right now. I think winning in Iraq and prevailing against terrorism are the defining challenges of this era and therefore am going to vote according to that philosophy. I tend to disagree that McCain would be as far to the left as you think he would be, but only time (and a McCain presidency) will tell.

I could not bear to listen to four years of Obama empty-suit bullshit or HRC ball-buster crao. I'm still voting McCain, I'm sorry.

Yeah, I know, I haven't insulted you yet. Sorry, I'm losing my touch in my old age. ;-) I'll work something up, I promise.

Kip, thanks for advertising this McCain discussion in the post above this one. Sorry it's not about Madden, but I thought you needed a curve ball. I appreciate your comments even though I disagree. You didn't even insult me (yet). The Republican party is doomed with a McCain presidency, and thus would present a huge setback for conservative policies and the fate of our nation.

By the way, just as an aside, if we could get it -- I'd take four more years of W. Yes, I still support him, I imagine you do as well, and we both know he's a conservative.

Okay, there, that should piss off any liberal reading this. That make you a little happier? If it was W for a third term vs. McCain I'd take George in a New York minute.
