By the way, I was talking to Nigam tonight regarding Spygate, and he's all into this shadowy character named Ernie Adams, who is supposedly like, the Karl Rove of the Patriots, and the real guy behind Spygate and such...dunno if I believe it, I'm not much for conspiracy theories, but...

Thoroughly understood re: private life. If you want, drop me your email address at info@kiplange.com...glad to hear you're doing well, man, and again, you were one hell of a player. I used to use you in Madden all the damn time. :-) Hurry-up goal-line FB dives over and over for 90 yards. ;-)

Yeah. Like Bruce said, glory days, they'll pass you by in the wink of a young girl's eye, huh? Ah well, we're both alive and okay, Thank God for that.

Those were the days Lange. I don't really like to put my personal life out there, but I'm doing great. Went back to school after I finished playing ball and now working for the man. I hope all is well with you and again, too bad about your Pats.

Oh, yeah, wait -- what are you up to these days? And how's the knee? I was always amazed you played through that, I was always worried you were gonna blow the knee bigtime and...well you know better than me, you mess up your knee bad, you're not just out of the league, you're in for several years of physical therapy just so you can WALK right...

Your pops opened a new restaurant, right? I think I read that. Used to love packing on the carbs there.

What ever happened to your HS sweetheart, J.G.?

Hah! Close, very close, but by senior year it was "ironman" tackle (I think I was a little better at D). And then, of course, after proving I could go from zero to hero, I promptly quit, and they had to shuffle in people all over to play tackle...God, that was bad, the coaches tried to talk me back in...Dennis Sax called me to try to talk me back in while triples were still going on...and all I wanted to do was party. Practice, man, I just couldn't stand practice for another year (plus Nig quit, and he was my last real good buddy on the team). I kept telling the other players, though, you're going to win, you don't need me, this is the best team I've ever seen, we just don't lose...oh well. If I could do it over again, I'd go back and play (also the move from center to tackle ticked me off cuz as center I actually got to touch the ball -- stupid, but...I didn't want to be left tackle...).

Dude, it was an honor to bench-press with you. :-) I kept up with you at Stanford, you know, even though I hate the damn Tree...of course, I'm ticked about Cal's season this year (but Longshore got injured, give them that).

How the hell can I defend a coach in the NFL to an NFL player?!?!? You win, dude, I'm not going to argue it right now. ;-)

I remember reading an article about you running up and down some hill in the off-season and even Barber got gassed before you, man. And you were a frickin' *force* on the Giants, man. And at the Texans, and the Bucs...but that NFC Champ. must have been something...

I bet you want to beat the crap out of Tom Brady, don't you? Hehe.

At some point I'll try to defend Belichick but...gonna be tough...I ain't never been pro material, that's damn sure...

I also followed your bro a little in college, man.

Hehehe. You were the only person who could bench more than me. That was my one gift, freakish ability at the bench press...every now and then I still do the arm negatives you used to do, Christ does that burn (although not as bad as the damn quads).

I think you almost destroyed our neck-building machine...

I can't stand comparisons, but I also vaguely remember a kid named Lange that played Wellesley JV. That wasn't you was it? That kid was quite a d-end/linebacker if I recall correctly...

Oh, one more thing -- the Giants were a much better team in 2001 (they won the NFC championship that year...but then again I think you know that...)when they had this #34 guy at fullback...guy was a monster at opening up holes on that d-line...reminded me of Moose Johnston from the old Dallas days.

:-)

Oh, and the basketball thing...I don't know if I can jump on the bandwagon...I never played basketball, so I don't really understand the game. Not that playing a couple of years of HS ball qualifies you as an NFL expert, but it does teach you about the game...hell, I still don't fully understand what a pick and roll is and/or how to execute it. ;-)

Although I have been quietly rooting for the Celtics through the lean years for a long time, mostly because I think Pierce is a class act who deserves some credit...
